After finishing college where I studied accountancy, I joined the banking industry. I enjoyed a 16 year career in the industry in which I progressed from teller duties to managing one of the largest bank branches in Scotland. Within my time in the banking industry I have built up a large knowledge base on all aspects of the finance industry. |
The financial services industry in the UK is heavily regulated and compliant and my background in that environment has ensured that I am committed to comply with the Code of Ethics in all facets of my business.

I was born in a small town called Inverurie in the North East of Scotland. I met my partner, Rachael, a South Island girl (from Alexandra), whilst she was on her overseas experience in 1999. After having our daughter, Rosie, in July 2002 we decided that we would like to bring her up in New Zealand. I arrived in your beautiful country on 1 December 2003 and settled in Christchurch in March 2004.
In my spare time I love spending time exploring Canterbury with my family. My new favourite pastime is having a barbecue with friends. I enjoy playing tennis, golf and going to the gym and continue to follow the fortunes of my football team – Aberdeen – with a keen interest.
I love meeting people and getting to know them. I love helping people achieve their goals. Perhaps, because of my Scottish background, I hate seeing people waste their money. I help my clients get the best value for money and the most relevant products in the marketplace. Simply, I see how I can save my clients some money, make my clients some money, or give my clients peace of mind so they know that they, and their families, will have the opportunity to live and retire with dignity and without financial worry.
